The water-blocking yarns are newly developed with super absorbent en-swell fibers. It can absorb water quickly and expand greatly with high tensile strength. In the production of optical and electrical cable, it can take place of filling compounds, water blocking tapes or common yarns. It is a good choice for optical cable production.
It not only can be used in the cable core but also can be wound between primary and secondary sheath as filling yarns. For its good water blocking and swelling performance, if water permeates through the interstices of the cable, the yarns will absorb water and expand quickly to block water permeation.
It has different types according to the length per kilogram, which will make cable lighter and more dependable and make dry core cable solution feasible.
